We have located the best hospital in China for foreign advanced-cancer patients to be treated with a combination of gene therapy (Gendicine), immunotherapy (CIK or DC-CIK biotherapy), Cancer Stem Cell Targeted Treatment, a powerful anti-angiogenosis drug (Endostar), mild chemotherapy, HIFU non-invasive or Croysurgery minimal invasive surgery and traditional Chinese medicine (herb). This combined treatment is only available at the Beijing GreatWall International Cancer Center (BGWICC). It is very effective for pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, and breast cancer and it has very little or no side effects. BGWICC has successfully treated patients suffering from a number of advanced cancers with very encouraging results of more than 65% effective rate for liver, lung, pancreas, colorecta, ovary, breast cancer and relative metastasis. Patients include overseas patients from Turkey, Netherland, Australia, US, Canada, Germany, Britain and Singapore. Many patients had already failed to respond to varieties of chemotherapy regimens when they came and they achieve impressive efficacies here in BGWICC. For us, patients are more than just their cancers. Targeted against cancer, centered on you!
BGWICC belongs to the Second Affiliated Hospital of PLA General Hospital located

at the foot of the beautiful Baiwang Mountain and near the Summer Palace in Haidian District, Beijing. BGWIMC is an important member of this large comprehensive AAA hospital (top level in China) with more than 1,200 inpatients beds and 46 departments. The hospital campus is over 740,000 square meters with fresh air and clean rivers running through the campus. After more than 50 years of development, the hospital has become one of the best hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities in China. Our Combinative Approach to Cancer Treatment
BGWICC's treatment is a combinative treatment, composed of the following elements: (1)Chemotherapy, (2)Radiation, (3)Gene therapy-Gendicine, (4)Antiangiogenesis agents-Endostar, (5)Minimal invasive surgery - Cryosurgery for local control of tumors as liver cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, for example, (6)Non invasive surgery-HIFU knife for local control of tumors as pancreatic cancer, for example, (7)CIK-DC cell immunotherapy,(8)Tradditional Chinese Medicine-Herb,(9)Cancer stemcells targeting agents. Cancer stem cells, which account for less than 5% of all cancer cells in a specific tumor mass, are naturally resistant to chemotherapy agents. However, this small population of resistant cells (cancer stem cells) is believed to be the key to chemotherapy and radiotherapy failure which causes most cancer deaths in various cancer types such as pancreas, breast, and colorectal cancers. They have also established innovative approaches in modifying cancer stem cells’ sensitivity to chemotherapy agents by blocking PI3K-mTOR signaling pathways and inducing cancer stem cell apoptosis with novel agents including Chinese traditional medicines originally discovered by BGWICC scientists and doctors. As a result, they have produced quite encouraging results with their innovative combination therapy including gene therapy in successfully treating pancreas, breast, and colorectal cancer patients from different countries who lost their chance for surgery and failed to respond positively to a variety of chemotherapy regimens.
Research
BGWICC is also a center for cancer research, with scientists and physicians working together at the nexus of basic science and clinical research. The physicians and scientists in BGWICC study the causes and behavior of cancer to develop more effective approaches to cancer prevention and treatment.
Pancreatic cancer has a markedly increased incidence over the past several decades and ranks as the fourth leading cause of cancer death in western countries. Despite the high mortality rate associated with pancreatic cancer, its etiology is poorly understood. For patients with advanced cancers, the OS rate of all stages is less than 1% at 5 years with most patients dying within 1 year. Patients with any stage of pancreatic cancer can appropriately be considered candidates for clinical trials because of the poor response to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery as conventionally used.
Pancreatic cancer survivorship is very poor and the cancer is relatively resistant to chemotherapy. Since ascites is one of the main problems the advanced pancreatic patients will face, and sometimes is the main cause of patient death, establishment of new and more effective approaches to alleviate ascites is now under intensive research in our institution although HIFU combined with our systematic treatment have already produced very good results for not very late stages of pancreas cancer patients.

Besides our current use of chemotherapy agent sensitizers, we are currently collaborating with The Research Center of Tibetan Medicine of The Chinese Academy of Sciences to screen new and more effective Tibetan Medicines targeted at pancreatic cancer stem cells and their chemotherapy resistance.
Cancer stem cells were originally identified in leukemia and later in several solid tumor types. They have very different properties from the bulk of the tumor, such as slower division and very efficient drug- resistance mechanisms. Current treatments might largely spare cancer stem cells, thus leading to tumor recurrence and metastasis. The recent identification of growth and differentiation pathways responsible for cancer stem cell proliferation and survival will help in the discovery and identification of novel therapeutic targets. Developing selective drugs against cancer stem cells offers not only a further understanding of the mechanisms of carcinogenesis but also provides opportunities for great therapeutic advancements.
Cancer stem cells in the solid tumor are the main reason for chemotherapy and radiation therapy failure. Cancer stem cells are dormant and have molecular pumps to pump out the chemotherapy drugs, which results in chemotherapy failure, cancer metastasis and recurrence. According to this current recognized theory, chemotherapy itself (i.e. standard chemotherapy regi
Biotherapy Laboratory
BGWICC has an independent high standard biotherapy lab. The Lab covers an area of 300 m2. It is proved by, that the biotherapy lab has met GMP standard for cells culture lab, with a general standard for class 1,000 (ISO 7) and local standard for class 100 (ISO 5).There is a well-educated team working in the well-equipped Biotherapy Lab. All have Bachelor degrees or above, including two Ph. Ds and four Masters. Biotherapy Lab is equipped with the newest generation of blood cell separators (CAMBRO), CO2 incubators (SANYO), inverted microscope and biomicroscope (OLYPUS), tabletop centrifuges (KUBOTA), SW-CJ super clean benches, -80 ℃ freezer (HAIER) etc. At the meantime, there is strict quality control that meets the national requirements to ensure that our products are safe and effective for human use.
At present the main function of the Biotherapy Lab is to culture immune cells for research and clinical purposes. CIK/CIK-DC cells immunotherapy is now available in the Biotherapy Lab.
